Center for Responsive Schools (CRS) is a nonprofit educational development organization and publishing house committed to developing high-quality social and emotional learning (SEL) programs, products, and services for students and educators. CRS has a 40-year history of developing research- and evidence-based SEL programs, products, and services that are used by educators across the world. The work of CRS is designed by educational professionals and rigorously tested, in the classroom and school settings for which they are intended to be implemented, using improvement science research.

CRS is located in Turners Falls, MA and looking for talented salespeople to engage our customers and help us to continue to grow the business.


The event planner is responsible for planning and executing CRS-sponsored U.S. and international events. This position requires high attention to detail, professionalism and good judgment. The position is responsible for event planning and onsite production, administrative tasks related to event planning and production, and high customer-care ethic and emphasis for both internal and external customers.

Event Planning

CRS Events:

  • Research and present venues for CRS events in alignment with the strategic geographic placement set by the director.
  • Research and present dates for CRS events in alignment with school and district calendars in the geographic area of the venue and the vision provided by CRS leadership.
  • Use a pricing guide to identify the appropriate meeting space, room rates, commission, food & beverage, and concessions with properties that align with the organization’s guidelines before site selection
  • Coordinate event logistics with the event planning assistant, including catering, A/V, parking, space allocation, shipping and tracking of materials, and lodging for staff by securing a host hotel. Advertised events participants will be directed to book travel through Pioneer Valley Travel.
  • Coordinate a communication plan with event staff and support logistical needs prior to, during event, and after an event


  • High School Diploma, Associate’s degree or equivalent college courses with at least 5 year related experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and experience with event planning
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google suite
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with autonomy
  • Proficient in using the Internet to conduct research
  • Proficient with Salesforce, Word, Excel
  • Able to receive and apply feedback
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
