Center for Responsive Schools (CRS) is a nonprofit educational development organization and publishing house committed to developing high-quality social and emotional learning (SEL) programs, products, and services for students and educators. CRS has a 40-year history of developing research- and evidence-based SEL programs, products, and services that educators worldwide use. The work of CRS is designed by educational professionals and rigorously tested in the classroom and school settings for which they are intended to be implemented, using improvement science research.

We are looking for a one-year contract as our Marketing Writer.

The Marketing Writer reports to the Director of Marketing and Engagement and is responsible for writing and editing engaging content for various social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and website content. They optimize web content (language, tone, message) based on the target audience’s behaviors to grow Fly Five’s brand identity and awareness.


  • Writes and edits engaging posts for various social networks, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Optimizes social media posts (language, tone, message) based on our target audience’s behaviors
  • Converts marketing ideas into a hashtag, blog, or longer post for different social media networks.
  • Creates engaging text on web pages to drive traffic
  • Updates our social media pages with compelling company news
  • Increases brand awareness and readership by using relevant advertising techniques.
  • Coordinates with internal teams to create advertising posts (e.g. for events, open roles and product releases)
  • Tracks and reports on social media insights (traffic, engagement, shares, conversion rates)
  • Improves and adjusts copy based on reactions by readers on social media.
  • Networks with clients and industry professionals

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as a Social Media or Marketing Copywriter or a similar role
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Familiarity with online paid advertising
  • Ability to deliver creative web content (text, image, and video)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BSc in Marketing, Communications, or relevant field
  • Working knowledge of SEO, analytics tools, and keyword research.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology.
  • Ability to create original web content with images or videos.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be a team player and to multi-task.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • The ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Willing to build knowledge of Fly Five customers, website users, and programs by periodically attending events as needed
